HOW TO PLAY

Trail Lab

  1. Explore freely. W / Up drives forward, S / Down reverses, A / D steers. Hold the opposite direction to brake, then drive the other way. Shift brakes; Space holds the rear handbrake. Touch arrows work the same way.
  2. Direction controls select D or R automatically after stopping. N selects neutral; press a direction to drive again. Q switches D/R manually when stopped. The five-speed gearbox shifts automatically.
  3. 1 selects rear-wheel drive (2H), 2 engages four-wheel drive (4H), and 3 selects low range (4L). Release the throttle to switch 2H/4H. Stop and select N before entering or leaving 4L.
  4. 4H and 4L lock the front and rear driveshafts together. The axles have open differentials. X locks the rear differential below 10 km/h for uneven grip; unlock it for easier turns.
  5. The overlays show actual wheel loads, suspension travel, tyre slip and body attitude. Orange bars indicate the grip limit. F shows contact forces; H hides telemetry; F2 toggles the performance monitor.
  6. Drag the view to orbit, scroll to zoom, or press C for chase, frame, suspension and orbit cameras. B toggles the parking brake. R puts the car upright nearby; the target button returns to the clearing. P / Escape pauses.
  7. M toggles the north-up terrain map. The yellow marker shows vehicle position and facing; the blue arrow shows actual travel, including reverse and sideways slides. A square marks the starting clearing.
  8. The 1,080 kg sprung chassis and four 50 kg wheel assemblies move independently. Springs and dampers transfer forces between them. The total mass is 1,280 kg. Tyre flex and ground ruts remain visual effects.
  9. Press V or the cube button to toggle wireframe view and inspect the vehicle and terrain mesh while driving. Use the Test ground menu to visit the four numbered suspension test lanes.
